Mentawai Surf Package is an independent planning guide to surf packages in the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra, Indonesia. We compare surf camps, surf resorts and boat charters, publish indicative price ranges and inclusion lists, and help travellers contact independent operators. We are not a tour operator and we do not own or run boats, camps or resorts.
What this guide covers
Planning a Mentawai trip means choosing between many operators, stay types and transfer options, and package prices are hard to compare because each operator includes different things. This site exists to make that comparison clearer. It covers the Mentawai Islands only.
- Prices: full surf holiday budgets, surf camp price bands and premium resort and charter rates.
- Inclusions: what “all inclusive” really covers, meals, boats, transfers and the surf levy.
- Logistics and booking: getting from Padang to the islands, booking timelines and deposits, seasons and packing.
How we research and present prices
We build our ranges from published operator rates, travel-site listings and official sources such as the regional surf levy regulation and public ferry schedules. We present them as indicative ranges, never as quotes or fixed tariffs. Operators set their own prices, inclusions and availability, and these change with season, room type, group size and booking date. Always confirm the current price and the written inclusion list with the operator before you pay.
The budget estimator on the home page uses the same per-person, per-night bands as the price guides: basic camps about US$135 to US$200 (US$950 to US$1,400 a week), mid-range camps US$285 to US$500 (US$2,000 to US$3,500 a week), premium resorts US$350 to US$800 or more, and shared boat charters US$190 to US$440 (US$1,900 to US$4,400 for 10 to 12 days). All are indicative and vary by operator and season.
What we do not do

- We do not present third-party operators as our own. Where a guide names an operator or a wave, it is an example to help you compare, not an endorsement or a guarantee of price or availability.
- We do not take bookings or payments for operators. Bookings, payments and trip terms are always agreed between you and the operator you choose.
Who writes the guides
Guides are written and updated by the Mentawai Surf Package Editorial Team. Each page shows the month it was last updated, and we revise pages when levies, ferry schedules or price bands change. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will check it.
